Elevate your look with a DIY Lash Lift Shop the piece

Get your sparkle back with a $20 at-home lash lift kit and dazzle yourself every time you pass the mirror.

I had heard of lash lifts for the past several years, but I'd never experimented myself. That is, until — you guessed it — I discovered a TikTok video of an influencer doing an at-home lash lift.

I was immediately enticed. I watched as she took her lashes from long yet ordinary to extraordinary in a 60-second time-lapse using an at-home lash lift kit.

I have been a longtime fan of at-home eyelash tinting, so I was game for the experiment. Without a moment of hesitation, I ordered the $20 lash lift kit from her Amazon store.

Before the lash lift, with dry hair.
Before.
After the lash lift, in a white robe and hair towel.
After.

The following day, I got my own kit in the mail. I could not wait to try it myself.

If there's anything I know from at-home eyelash tinting — and eyelash tinting in general — it's that you've got to be careful with that mofo. One wrong move and the solutions will sting your eyeballs for days and leave your eyes looking like you have pink eye.

I sat down after an everything shower and putting on my serums with sheer determination. The instructions say you cannot wet the lashes for 24 to 48 hours after finishing, so I wanted to make sure I was squeaky clean before beginning my endeavor.

The process is tedious, yet completely worth it 1000 times over. I read the kit's instructions thoroughly and watched the aforementioned TikTok video at least 3500 times.

I followed each step as I glued the rod to my eyelids, then combed the lashes with glue one by one into place on the rod. I used the serums properly, and even put on a perm cover — a.k.a. saran wrap — while the perm lotion was curing.

Essentially, an eyelash lift is a perm for your eyelashes. Who would've guessed?

I loved the tools provided in the kit. I may invest in a tiny comb on a rod instead of the thicker one the kit comes with, because it was hard to get the corners of my eyes.

Luckily, I did not get any lotion in my eyeballs, and the process was time-consuming but painless.

I finished the right eye and was enamored by the results. My eyelashes are long to begin with because I use serums every day. This took it to the next level. I was wowed.

It took my look to the next level and I felt like such an influencer TikTok girly. Like, “who? Meeeee?”

I got internet-worthy results that I thought were only possible with fake lashes.

I moved on to the next eye.

The process was faster the second time. However, my rod placement was a little off and my lashes were not completely symmetrical. Which literally almost made me cry.

I'm gonna be honest with you: this was not advised by ChatGPT, but I did the process again to try to lift them higher, and it did not work. I was worried my eyelashes were gonna fall off using perm lotion two times in a row.

Nonetheless, we finished up the second eye. And although not perfectly symmetrical, it was a great improvement that looks even now that they've fallen a bit.

Again, totally worth it.

I had to go to an annoying family weekend after that, and every time I passed a mirror I was dazzled by my own eyelashes.

It was like seeing long, beautiful, internet-worthy eyelashes first and the face second.

I felt like a mermaid or a beautiful baby doll with my eyelashes lifted.

All for $25 and maybe an hour and a half of work.

If you feel like you need an enhancement, I cannot recommend this enough. The pack comes with five sets of lash lifting goods.

Once you have the tools, you can buy the needed lotions and potions separately. In fact, you can buy all parts separately, but I highly recommend this one kit — it was super easy and a good starting point. I will upgrade my eyelash glue, because that's what the girl in the video did and now I'm paranoid I don't have the best glue on the market.

But it absolutely worked and gave me quality results.

You can get a lash lift done at the salon — I was looking on Groupon and the minimum was about $45. However, if you are determined, you can do it at home by yourself for a lot less.

Remember not to wet the eyelashes for 24 to 48 hours. I'm going to be honest with you: I did not listen, because I wanted the right side to fall a touch. I washed my lashes and the results have stayed. It's been about three weeks now and my lashes still look amazing — perfectly curled every single day no matter what I'm doing. And that's an incredible feat.

The results last 4 to 6 weeks. It's important to wait 4 to 6 weeks before lifting them again, because the perm lotion is strong and you do not want to damage your lashes.

I have not noticed any eyelashes falling out, and I did not get a reaction from the lotion. I use serum every day to keep my lashes healthy, but I was doing that before anyway, so nothing new there.

I would recommend this to anybody who wants to see an enhancement quickly and at an affordable price point. About three days later, I followed up with a lash tint and am absolutely drooling over the results.
